Winter Retreat – Movement, Breathwork & Sweatlodge

Our Winter Retreat is a weekend to care for yourself and your body, and a great way to start your New Year with intention. The retreat helps you move, breathe, slow down, release stress, and feel more connected as you begin the year. With a mix of movement, breathwork, a sweatlodge ceremony, and healthy meals, you’ll leave feeling refreshed, energized, and ready for the year ahead.
Kura Waka will be our home for this Winter Retreat. A beautiful place which is more than just a retreat center, it’s a sanctuary for healing, growth, and self-discovery.
Surrounded by vibrant colors and thoughtful details (see pictures below), it offers a magical space to pause, play, and reconnect. Here, you can step away from the busyness of everyday life and immerse yourself in an atmosphere designed to nurture both body and spirit.
Morning Movement Flows
Begin each day with a gentle morning flow, designed to wake up your body and awaken your energy. Accesible, flowy movements that create more mobility and a deeper connection to your body
Breathwork Sessions
Using Conscious Connected Breathing, a continuous, flowing breath technique that helps to release emotional blocks, reduce stress, and brings you into a deeper state of awareness. Both Melissa and Lotte are certified Breathwork coaches that will guide you with a lot of softness and care.
Stress Release & TRE
Learning practical tools and techniques to release built-up tension stored within your body. Working with TRE (Tension Release Exercises) to find your bodies natural way of releasing stress.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga focuses on deep stretches and long-held postures, allowing you to release tension and cultivate stillness. This gentle practice helps you relax both your body and mind while creating more space and softness in your body.
Sweatlodge
On Sunday morning after breakfast we will come together for the Sweatlodge Ceremony where Michaela van der Meer, founder of Kura Waka will guide us. The sweatlodge is a beautiful ritual that has been around for hundreds of years and practiced by many ancient tribes. A place to heal, pray, sweat, give thanks and shed the layers that are not serving us anymore. It provides the space to open up, to connect, to transform and to be reminded of our connection to our selves in a grounded way.
This retreat is open to all, regardless of experience. Whether you’re new to movement and breathwork or looking to deepen your practice, it’s an ideal opportunity to slow down, release tension, and reconnect with yourself as you move through the winter season.
