About Ayi Solomon:
Musician/Performer/Composer

Ayi Solomon a Percussinist, was born in 1956, and raised in Mamprobi, a suburb of Accra. He is a self taught and ambitious musician. Originally from Ghana, Ayi Solomon came to Denmark in 1982 with a reggae band. The following year, the band went to West Germany to play on US military bases, but Ayi Solomon returned to Copenhagen. He has since built a solid reputation for world music and African music in the Danish music scene. He has
been called a firebrand and at the same time a cultural bridge builder. Since his arrival in Denmark, Solomon has released 5 albums in his own name and played with New Jungle
Orchestra, Palle Mikkelborg, Moussa Diallo, Bo Stief, Rasmus Lyberth and Himmerland.
His colorful life is also portrayed in a new documentary film by Morten Bo Larsen, which will be presented in Denmark along with concerts.
