Midwinter Dance and Sweatlodge.
To dive deep, to shed skin, to clean and purify for the new cycle to come.

We will combine the 5Rhythms dance meditation practice with the ancient sweatlodge ritual during a weekend at beautiful Kura Waka in Groningen. We will invite the energy of the dark to feel what's not visible with the eye. To listen to the wisdom of our bodies and our unique movements guided by the 5Rhythms Waves map Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness and to embrace all that you are!!

The healing power of sweat was known by ancient tribes who provided sweatlodges. Gabrielle Roth the founder of the 5Rhytms was also aware of this.

"To sweat is to pray, to make an offering of your innermost self. Sweat is holy water, prayer beads, pearls of liquid that release your past. Sweat is an ancient and universal form of self healing, whether done in the gym, the sauna, or the sweatlodge. I do it on the dance floor. The more you dance, the more you sweat. The more you sweat, the more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you come to ecstasy." - Gabrielle Roth

The 5Rhythms are workout and meditation for everybody who loves to dance. It's a simple and deep way of movement healing for body and mind, heart and soul. The 5Rhythms create a Wave and invite you to listen to your body, bring your unique energy into movement and to (re)discover your natural flow and ways to express it.

The sweatlodge ceremony is an ancient old purification ritual within many indigenous cultures. The most wel known is maybe the ones from the North American Indians. The sweatlodge tradition that Michaela shares is based on the Chippewa Cree tradition, been passed on to her by the Native Elder Ron Evans, and has been experienced as a warm blanket.
